Our World Famous Fries™ are famous because they’re cut from specially selected quality potato varieties such as the Russet Burbank. This makes for a wonderful fry: crispy and golden on the outside, fluffy on the inside. We also cook them in a vegetable oil blend cooking oil that contains Canola oil, which is one of the healthiest commonly-used cooking oils.
Our World Famous Fries™ are made from potatoes selected for their quality, taste and size. Our trusted suppliers cut, lightly par-fry and freeze them before sending to distribution centres via temperature-controlled trucks. They are then cooked in our special vegetable oil blend, so you get them crispy, hot and fresh.

We strive to do more by giving customers the power of choice when they visit one of our restaurants. McDonald’s Prepared for You cooking system allows you to customize your order to help you meet your individual dietary needs.
McDonald’s also offers an online Nutrition Calculator. This user-friendly tool allows you to select and view your favourite menu items. The Nutrition Calculator provides nutrition information specific to your food choices.
In addition to the Nutrition Calculator, in-restaurant nutrition information posters and tray liners are available to help customers in their efforts to maintain a balanced diet. In 2006, McDonald’s became the first quick-service restaurant to begin including nutrition information on the packaging of many of our menu items.

By referencing Food Facts or our online Nutrition Calculator prior to a purchase, consumers with allergies can identify any ingredients that may present sensitivity issues.
McDonald's is also a member of the Canadian Restaurant and Foodservices Association's (CRFA) Allergy Aware program: a national initiative developed to raise consumer awareness of the special needs of people with food allergies. McDonald's displays the Allergy Aware symbol on the ingredient information available in our restaurants.
