Drew Doughty is one of the premier defencemen in the National Hockey League, and a gold medalist in men’s hockey at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Drew was introduced to hockey when he was given a mini stick for his first birthday; skating by the age of two and playing when he was four. He is now enjoying a stellar career in hockey, both with the Los Angeles Kings of the NHL, and representing his country with Team Canada, having won several medals in international play.
Drew talks about his McDonald’s experience
How important is your role as a McDonald’s Grassroots Hockey Pro?
It is very important because that’s where it all begins. Playing minor hockey is what makes you love the game. It doesn’t seem fair for kids who can’t afford it to miss out on that golden opportunity. To me, it’s important to give back.
