Here are some of the ways we’ve been recognized.

DJSIMcDonald’s® has consistently been chosen to be included on the prestigious Dow Jones World and North American Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). The DJSIs are the most prestigious stock indexes for socially responsible investors. As the first-ever family of global sustainability benchmarks, the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) has been identifying sustainability leaders across all industries for over ten years. The DJSI enable investors to integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios while providing an effective engagement platform for encouraging companies to adopt sustainable best practices.

GREEN 30McDonald’s® Canada is very pleased to have our efforts recognized once again by being named to Aon Hewitt's 2011 Green 30 list. Organizations that participate in the Best Employers in Canada studies are automatically eligible for the Green 30 list. McDonald’s Canada was the only foodservice company named to the list.

Top 50 CSRMcDonald’s® Canada is very pleased to have our social responsibility efforts recognized once again by being included on the 2011 Maclean’s/Jantzi-Sustainalytics list of the 50 Most Responsible Corporations in Canada. Jantzi-Sustainalytics evaluates companies based on a wide range of ESG (environmental, social and governance) indicators and monitors performance using their Best of Sector™ approach. This process allowed them to assess McDonald’s Canada against our competitors and determine which companies to recognize as the 50 Most Socially Responsible Corporations in Canada.

McDonald's Wins Seafood Champion AwardIn 2009 McDonald's® was recognized as a seafood champion by Seafood Choices Alliance. McDonald’s was lauded for their dedication and leadership within the global sustainable seafood movement and recognized for their work in advancing the marketplace for eco-friendly seafood.

Roberts Environmental CentreRoberts Environmental Centre rated McDonald’s as number one out of the 17 retails chains they evaluated in terms of CSR reporting and action. Our overall PSI (Pacific Sustainability Index) score was 44.51, or A+. Out of the 8 separate categories, McDonald’s received six A+’s and two A-‘s.
